Frances Elizabeth Davidson Ellerbrock
February 3, 1929 — December 26, 2017

Frances Elizabeth Davidson Ellerbrock, 88, of College Station went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at her home. A service celebrating her life is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2 at First United Methodist Church in Bryan. Rev. David Henry will officiate.

Frances was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Houston to Henry and Birdie Largent Davidson. She was raised in Houston and married William W. “Bill” Ellerbrock in 1950. They lived in Texas throughout their lives together with stops in Houston, Columbus, Alvin, and College Station. Frances was a proud stay-at-home mom who raised a beautiful family that included four daughters and one son. If you didn’t find her in her flower or vegetable garden — or busy canning her harvest — she would be riding the waves at the beach with her kids. She also was a Girl Scout leader in her younger years.

A member of First United Methodist Church of Alvin for 42 years, Frances sang in the choir and taught Sunday school in the Children’s Division. She attended First United Methodist Church in Bryan after moving to College Station in 2002.

Frances was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend who was regarded for her profound generosity, her passion for the Lord, her genuine appreciation of the natural world and its beauty, and her affection for music of all genres. She will be missed by her family and friends and fondly remembered for her unconditional love and kindness.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her only brother, Clifford (Sonny), two sisters, Birdie Marie (Sis) and Barbara Marie Smith, nephews Billy Ellerbrock and Lloyd Smith, and a niece, Karen Ellerbrock.

Survivors include her four daughters, Rebecca Rogers and husband, Alton, of College Station; Elise Bissell and husband, Tim, of Syracuse, N.Y.; Beth Barton and husband, Paul, of Plano; Jennifer Killian and husband, Colin, of College Station; a son, Joe, of College Station; and former daughter-in-law, Monette, of College Station; 10 grandchildren, Mandy Wood and husband, Jordan, of Brenham; Neal Rogers and wife, Janina, of Bryan; Will Rogers and wife, Mallory, of Bixby, Okla.; Ben Bissell and wife, Lulu, of Buffalo, N.Y.; Caleb Bissell of Buffalo, N.Y.; Bethany Bissell of Syracuse, N.Y., and her fiancé, Brian Voorhies, of Buffalo, N.Y.; Elisa Barton of Plano; and Cole Killian of College Station; four great grandchildren, Natalie Wood, Melanie Wood and Emily Wood of Brenham; and Wyatt Rogers of Bixby, Okla.; a brother-in-law, Alvin Smith, of Pangburn, Ark.; nephews Jimmy Ellerbrock and wife, Scottie, of Austin, Mike Ellerbrock and wife, Sue, of Blacksburg, Va.; Julie Ellerbrock, wife of the late Billy Ellerbrock, of Houston; great nieces and grand nephews Monica and Caleb Ellerbrock of Blacksburg, Va.; Michael Ellerbrock of Amarillo; Cole Ellerbrock of Austin; and Taylor Ellerbrock of College Station.
