Elizabeth “Ann” Lane passed away September 25, 2018 at the age of 74.
Ann was born December 19, 1943 in Howe, Texas to Broatis Franklin and Avo Opal (Watkins) Johnson. Her father was a carpenter, while her mother stayed at home and took care of their six children. Ann, the second youngest, grew up loving school. She always took care of her little sister Kathy. She enjoyed being part of both the drill team and the basketball team until she graduated from Irving High School 1961.
Ann was the rock of her family, always shouldering issues and helping people with their problems. She was a great wife to her husband of 35 years, Chuck Lane, and a great mother to her two sons David and William. Although she did work for Mary Kay and Walmart for several years and volunteered at her sons’ schools, Ann’s main focus was being a homemaker. An amazing housekeeper and cook, Ann loved getting the family together for gatherings and holidays. She loved to cook for the family and spend time together. Everyone felt welcomed into her home, and she made sure you were fed while you were there. Ann was a very proud grandma, loving her grandkids and grand dog (Kallee).
Ann was a very upbeat person, outgoing and always happy. She was a no-nonsense type of person who loved to fish and play bingo, cards, and dominos. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and tennis. Tennis and Jeopardy was on her TV all the time. She was a member of the Elks Lodge #859 of Bryan.
Ann leaves behind her husband Chuck Lane, her son and daughter-in-law David and Kim Kitchens of College Station, her son and daughter-in-law William and Kat Kitchens of Kilgore, her granddaughter Kayla Kitchens of College Station, her granddaughter Kelli Duran and her husband Marcelo of Katy, her grandson Kameron Kitchens of College Station, three great-grandchildren and one more on the way, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends. Her loving and caring spirit will be greatly missed.

Her life celebration will be Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11 AM in the chapel of Hillier Funeral Home of College Station, with a reception to follow at the Bryan Elks’ Lodge.
