Elia Parra

Elia Parra, 60, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 26, 2021. Elia Parra, a cheerful, kind, and loving woman, will be missed dearly by her friends, family, and loved ones. She will be remembered as always wanting to talk with someone, being an up-and-go person, and having an enormous passion for her family.

Elia was born on July 1, 1960, to her parents, Leopoldo Ramirez Razo and Maria del Refugio García, in Puerto del Aguila, Guanajuato, Mexico. As a young girl, she always wanted to visit her grandma. She loved spending time with her Mama Chuche because she made delicious tortillas! She also had fond memories of spending time at this one little lake, where she would play in the mud and make figures with it. Growing up, going to school was difficult because her mother had passed. Her sisters and Elia would take turns going to work and staying home taking care of their younger brothers. Later in life, Elia took a vacation road trip to Mexico and then to California to visit her brothers and sister that she hasn't seen in many years. It was one of her fondest memories.

Elia met the love of her life, Pedro Parra, while in Puerto del Aguila, Mexico. They married and had three daughters together, Karina, Yuri, and Cristal. Family was very important to Elia, she would care a lot for the family. She would always call all of her family members to catch up and know that everyone is doing good. Her greatest special day was when her kids and grandchildren were brought into her world. A special lesson she always told her daughters was to always be independent and to always be gentle with their kids. She always told them to be patient, and to never get the kids punished.

Elia was the one who always kept her house super clean. She was always an "up and go" person. Every time you saw her, she was always cleaning or doing laundry. She would always wash her clothes with a lot of liquid fabric softener, also known as suavitel. There was never a day she was not cleaning! She had a collection of "mini" stuff. She also collected many lotions. She would store everything and keep it for memories. Her true passion was family. She always wanted to call someone up on the phone just to talk. She tried to communicate with her family as much as possible. Her relationships with her family were very important to her.

Elia will be missed by her husband, Pedro Parra; her daughters, Karina Parra, Cristal Parra, and Yuri Parra; her grandchildren, Daniel Parra, Alex Carpio, Lorraine Martinez, Daphany Martinez, Adrian Martinez, Asael Paniagua III, Joshua Paniagua, Cesar Morales Jr., and Luis-Alfredo Morales; and her brothers/sisters, Rebecca Ramirez, Rogelio Ramirez, Miguel Ramirez, Silvia Ramirez, Maria Ramirez, and Lupe Ramirez.

She will be reunited with her parents, Leopoldo Ramirez Razo and Maria del Refugio García; and her grandma and grandpa.
A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm, with a Rosary to begin at 6 pm, on Tuesday, June 1st, at Hillier of BRYAN. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2 pm, on Wednesday, June 2nd, at Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
