Donald Bremer

Donald "Don" Walter Bremer, loving husband, father, poppa, brother and uncle passed away April 26, 2019, at the age of 84.
Don was born on March 9, 1933 in San Antonio to John Gilbert and Mary Volynn (Saunders) Bremer. Growing up in the Texas Valley and Corpus Christi with his brothers, Jack and David, and his sisters, Claudia and Diana, Don always said he was a very fortunate guy, never really wanting for anything. Don was captain of the football team, president of the senior class, voted most handsome, and was loved by all who knew him. After graduating from Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi in 1953, he attended Del Mar Junior College before going on to the University of Houston.
Don met his wife, Ginger Carol Tichenor, when they were introduced by mutual friends on a blind date in August of 1962, and were married a short time later, on Thanksgiving day of that same year. Together Ginger and Don shared 56 years of devoted love. They were blessed with three children, Gregory Alan, Gordon Eric, and Kelly Ann. He enjoyed being a dad and a poppa. Above all, he dearly loved his wife, Ginger.
Don was a professional mechanical engineer, working for Lockwood Greene for 20 years, and various other companies over the course of his long career. When he wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed playing golf and bridge. Don loved dogs and little children and they loved him. He enjoyed watching westerns and any John Wayne movie. He loved "real" country music - the old stuff. Don and his 2 year old son, Greg, were baptized together in September 1966. Don was actively involved in his church and faithfully received the Lord's Word and Sacrament. He served in the US Marine Corp Reserves until an accident ended his military service.
A kind, gentle, and loving man, Don leaves behind his beloved wife Ginger Bremer, his son and daughter-in-law Greg and Cindy Bremer, his son and daughter-in-law Eric and Jennifer Bremer, his daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Danny Allen, his grandchildren Megan Williams, Blake Bremer and his fiancé Catherine Zamora, Raigan Haas and her husband Cody, Ryan Bremer and his wife Meagan, Alyssa Bremer and her fiancé Kenny Mays, Clayton Bremer, Kate Bremer, Robert Allen, and Ely Allen, his great-grandchildren Adi Williams, Cade Williams, Colt Williams, Hadley Bremer, and Lily Zamora, his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Laurice Bremer, brother and sister-in-law David and Laura Bremer, and his sister and brother-in-law Claudia and Eric Waid. He was preceded in death by his sister Diana Bremer and his parents. Everyone loved his mischievous and witty personality and were blessed to be loved by him.
