Delores "Ginny" Haferkamp

Delores “Ginny” Haferkamp passed away December 29, 2017 at the age of 84.
Ginny was born in Coupland, Texas on January 23, 1933 to Adolph and Rose (Beutikofer) Johle. Growing up with sisters Estelle and Shirley on the family farm. Even as a child, Ginny was an overachiever. She was always thinking of new ways to get things done. She knew she wanted to be a nurse, and so she went on to nursing school as soon as she graduated from Pflugerville High School.
Ginny married the love of her life, Henry L. Haferkamp on April 17, 1952 in Coupland. The two were blessed with one son, Michael, during their 65 years of marriage. They were a very active couple and loved to ride motorcycles. They were members of the Brazos County Volunteer Fire Department for precinct four. Travel was important to them. They would often go camping for months at a time across the country with family and friends. She was a happy woman, determined to make every day of her life count. Ginny even water-skied well into her 60s!
Church was also very important to Ginny. She and Henry were life-long members of First United Methodist of Bryan, and also attended the First United Methodist of Navasota. She was a proud member of the United Methodist Church women’s group. In her spare time, Ginny enjoyed sewing and crocheting, making afghans for the entire family. She loved working in her garden.
Ginny leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Henry Haferkamp, her son and daughter-in-law Michael Floyd and Beth Haferkamp of Navasota, her sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Bob Battesta of San Antonio, her grandson Michael Christopher Haferkamp and his wife Stacey, her grandson Murray Craig Haferkamp and his wife DJ, her granddaughter Amanda Christine Haferkamp, her great-grandchildren Haley, Christopher, Darian, Quinten, Logan, and Stuart, and a host of loving extended family, friends, and church family.
