Brandon Gerrod Mickens

Brandon Gerrod Mickens, 37, of Bryan, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Brandon was born on April 1, 1983, in Paris, Texas, to his parents, Robert and Shirley Mickens. Brandon always recanted stories of his parents as a young boy, about his Dad always cooking and his Mom didn't mind him dirtying up the dishes because it was so good! He also talked about how great of a Mom he had, and that she used to take care of everyone including him and his siblings, and his cousins and the grandchildren. Brandon graduated from Paris High School and attended Paris Junior College. He would go on to start a career in Customer Service.

Brandon loved his wife, Larie O'Gilvie, and his children, Kendra Eddington and Zion Mickens. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them. He worked hard to provide for them, and was there for them as a devoted father and husband every day. Brandon not only had a loving heart, but a charming personality. He had an amazing sense of humor; he always knew how to make you smile. He was very intelligent, and was an amazing father, husband, friend, protector, and provider.

Brandon enjoyed travelling. He especially loved trips with his wife and children to all kinds of places! Brandon was very good at cooking barbeque, and loved to have his family and friends around. He also enjoyed playing chess and was very good at it. He was also a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, watching every game! Brandon was a firm believer in God. He grew up in church at Freedom Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Paris Texas.

He will be remembered by his wife, Larie O'Gilvie; children, Kendra Eddington and Zion Mickens; siblings, Vanessa Holmes, Martin Hobbs, and Marvin Mickens.

He will be reunited in Heaven by his parents, Robert Joe Mickens and Shirley Louise Patterson-Mickens; brothers, Joseph Allen Mickens (Slick) and James Robert Mickens; and sister AngelaJeanette Gill-Hollywood.
