Archie Clark

Archie Clark, 82, of College Station, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, on Thursday, July 22nd, and from 1-3 pm on Friday, July 23rd, at Hillier of College Station. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3 pm, on Friday, July 22nd, at the funeral home. Graveside services with Honors and Final Masonic Rite will follow at College Station City Cemetery.

Archie a dedicated, loving, and loyal man, was born on February 23, 1939, to his parents, John Anthony Clark and Lillie Wilma Clark. Archie grew up in many places including Hattiesburg and Dixie in Mississippi, Mississippi Delta, Indiana, and Houston, Texas. As a young man, Archie was involved in the Eagle Scouts. After graduating high school, Archie began a career in sheet metal work. He went into law enforcement in 1971, where Archie became an instructor of firearms training and earned additional law enforcement certifications. He also had training in SWAT and Narcotics. Archie retired from law enforcement on January 1, 2011, after 40 years of service. There are so many stories from his time in service, but we would have to change the names to protect the innocent!

Archie married Lydia Dual Briones Clark, who has been faithfully by his side throughout these troubling years. Archie loved being a dad to his 4 children and 5 step-children. He was a good father who was dedicated to loving them. Family was always important to him. His trip to his family reunion on July 4th, in Dixie, Mississippi, was one of his favorite trips. They played football, played the annual softball game, fished in Louisiana, and played cards late into the night! It was one of his fondest memories.

As a part of the law enforcement community, he performed his job to the best of his ability. He was a man of his word, his "yes" was a yes and his "no" was a no. He had a huge heart for everyone, and never met a stranger. He taught his family and friends to always have a heart for others. Archie enjoyed fishing, hunting, trail riding, law enforcement, and any kind of training. His belief in Christ was the most important thing is his life. As a Methodist, he was a believer that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. He was also a 32nd degree member of the Cedar Creek Lodge #300 in Kurten. He was an avid believer in people doing the right thing. Honoring your word and being accountable and dependable was important to him. He believed in letting things go, "Let it go, will it make a difference in 100 years?" was one of his most known phrases.

Archie will be missed by his wife, Lydia Dual Briones Clark; his children, Keith Clark and wife Teri of College Station, Donna Jones and husband Marvin of Bryan, Tanya Rich and husband John of Lovelady, and Rachel Clark of College Station; stepchildren, John Krob of Navasota, Jennifer Reyna and husband Edward of Navasota, Ray Milla and wife Mae of Tallisay City, and Beverly Milla of Tallisay City. He will be remembered by his grandchildren and step-grandchildren, John Head and wife Kimberly of Kemah, Chris Head and wife Kimberly of Manhattan, Kansas, Robert Staten and wife Cassie of College Station, Shalee Watson and husband Brandon of Bryan, Jonathan Boren and wife Tiffany of Austin, Kasey Byrd and husband Derrick of Montgomery, James Clark of College Station, Jeremiah Clark of Alabama, Zack Clark and wife Ali of College Station, Jackie Chisum and husband Keith of Deanville, Amber Reyna and Chris Reyna of Navasota, and Keneth Milla and wife Keisha Milla of Tallisay City; and great-grandchildren, Harlee Staten of New York, Kevan Staten of College Station, Lillie Vanarsdale of Bryan, Ryleigh Watson of Bryan, Destiny Komar and Gabriel Komar of Deanville, Dakota Reddell and Sahara Reddell of Bryan, Andy Grace Clara of Alabama, Jaxxon Clark, Emma Clark, and Jace Clark of College Station, Jasper Clark of College Station, Maverick Bryd and Lawson Byrd of Montgomery, and Cali Boren and Korben Boren of Austin; and his sibling, Rosalie Michna of Roans Prairie.
