Andrea Marie Rueda

Andrea Marie Rodriguez Rueda passed away on July 28, 2018, at the age of 51.

Andrea was born May 12, 1967 in Bryan to Eddie and Nickie (Rosas) Rodriguez. Her father owned Eddie’s Body Shop. Growing up with her siblings Tracey, Valerie, and Zachary, Andrea grew up with a smile on her face and everyone around her was sure to laugh. She loved her sweets – so much so, she would even swallowed her gum after all of the sweetness was gone. As Andrea grow up, she found a new love…. Shopping! She would go shopping whenever she could and it was a top priority for her, as she loved to dress up and accessorize every outfit. After graduating from Bryan High, she went on to take some college classes.

Andrea met the love of her life, Nick Rueda at a dance in Bryan. That meeting did not go so well, but they really clicked the second time they met. They were married on August 12, 2001, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and mother to her five girls: Constance, Alexandria, Alexia, Kyrsten (Baby A), and Karrington (Baby B). She enjoyed decorating their home for every holiday occasion and loved taking her girls to Galveston for spring and summer breaks. She cherished spending time with them and always told them, “I am your very best friend. You always remember that!” This is just one example of the beautiful, positive words she spoke. They were a perfect reflection of her beautiful smile.

Andrea was a lover of life. She worked for her dad Eddie at Eddie’s Body Shop for many years. More recently, she worked for Texas A&M Student Business Services. She enjoyed going to work each day and cherished her co-workers. She may have been running late getting there, but Andrea always loved going. When not at work, Andrea enjoyed keeping in shape with her weekly cardio workouts with Jazzercize! Of course, she still loved to go shopping. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, she never lost her faith while fighting ALS.

Andrea leaves behind her husband Nick Rueda, her daughters Constance Johnson, Alexandria Rueda Fitzpatrick (James), Alexia Rueda, Karrington Rueda, and Kyrsten Rueda, her grandchildren Elysia, Levi, Cash, Jada, and Nolan, her mother Nickie, siblings Tracey Rodriguez (Marina), Valerie Serna, and Zachary Rodriguez (Priscilla); and her dog Max.

To honor Andrea’s life, her family has planned a Celebration Gathering to be held from 5-8 PM, with a Rosary and Memory Sharing Ceremony to begin at 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, August 3, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
