Alvyn Croye

Alvyn Winston Croye, 84, of Navasota, joined his wife in Heaven on November 22, 2020, after 30 years apart.

Alvyn was born on December 20, 1935, in Bluefield, West Virginia, to his parents, John H. Croye and Eddie Preas Croye. He graduated from Beaver High School, then attended Concord College and West Virginia University. Alvyn had an eye for design; and he thrived in the engineering industry as a structural designer, draftsman, and architect. In addition, he created the nuclear power plant designs for Brown & Root, Bechtel Corp, and the South Texas Nuclear Power Plant.

When Alvyn was not at the drawing board, he kept his hands busy with Harley Davidson Motorcycles, woodworking, and enjoying the outdoors. He was known for trout fishing and hosting camping trips with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed the family gatherings at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Alvyn had many hobbies and had to stay busy, however, he always had time for his family. He would lend his ears without judgement and help anyone in need. All in all, he was trustworthy and his kind-heartedness has impacted many.

Alvyn is reunited with his wife Peggy Elswick Croye, daughter Mitzi Croye Pate, parents John & Eddie P. Croye, and sister Jo Cox. Those left behind include, his son Mark Croye, son-in-law Larry Pate, and grandchildren, Janna "Amanda" Pate, Wesley Pate, Brianna Croye, and Shane Croye.

The Family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses in the Cardiac Care Unit at CHI St. Joseph Hospital in College Station, Texas. Their hard work is appreciated and does not go unnoticed.
