Allison Matous

Allison Elizabeth Himmel Matous, 32, of College Station, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 14, 2021. A fiercely loyal, dedicated, and loving woman, Allison will be missed dearly by friends and family.

Allison was born on February 5, 1989, to her parents, John and Cindy Himmel, in Kansas City, Missouri. She spent her early years growing up in Wichita, Kansas, and then moved to Springfield, Missouri for her middle school and high school years. As a young girl, she enjoyed her days as a middle school and high school cheerleader. As a teen, she loved going swimming, skiing, and wave runner riding at Table Rock Lake. Extremely intelligent, Allison completed both high school and college in just six years while also graduating Summa Cum Laude from Missouri State University.

Allison started a career as a teacher, where she was loved by her students. She taught preschool at Central Church and Stepping Stone School, taught elementary at Creekview Elementary, and currently was teaching 3rd grade at Allen Academy. Allison was an adored teacher; she inspired students with her words and actions. She had a heart of gold, and always wanted to help others. Her passion was teaching, and she was very devoted to her students.

Allison raised her two boys, Jackson and Jacob, with love and dedication. Caring for her boys was Allison's passion and her commitment was always on full display. She always had their best interests at heart. She was a single mom, but was engaged to be married in July to the love of her life, Justin Woodard. Their first date at brunch turned into an inseparable bond. There was a lot of love between them, and they share many loving memories.

Allison enjoyed her time in group bible studies at her church. She was a devout Christian who attended Brazos Valley Fellowship and Christ United Methodist Church. She saw to it that her boys engaged in Sunday school and Christian summer camp. She was also involved in her son's cub scout pack as a den mother.

Allison loved to cook and would spend hours making special meals enjoyed by family and friends. In the summertime, she cherished spending time with her boys, Justin, and friends at the pool! She loved family vacations, which included the beach and Disney cruises! She also enjoyed spending time in Missouri at her family lake home. Allison really loved holidays with her family. She planned special activities that become family traditions.

Allison will be missed by her parents John and Cindy Himmel; fiancé, Justin Woodard; sons Jackson and Jacob; uncles, Bob Barrett and wife Linda; Mike Himmel and wife Susan; cousins, James Barrett and wife Sara, Mike Himmel and wife Caitlin, Chris Himmel and wife Katie, Alex Himmel, and Robert Barrett; along with numerous other nieces and nephews as well as her loved labradoodle, Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pheobe's House.
