Sofia Tuliao Laquindanum

Sofia Tuliao Laquindanum passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at the age of 84. Sofia was born September 18, 1934 in Cagayan in the Philippines, where she grew up until moving to the United States in 2001.

Sofia took her role as full time mother very seriously. She took care of her family and loved them dearly, especially her daughter, Flo. Sofia was a great cook. One of her favorite dishes was a traditional Filipino dish, Kare Kare. Each year at New Years, she stuck to her traditional Filipino roots with putting a lot of fruit on the table, along with salt, water, rice, garlic, and money. In her free time, Sofia loved to watch soap operas and especially enjoyed watching Everyone Loves Raymond.

Sofia was a deeply loving but simplistic person, not caring much for material things. Her life and her heart belonged to God and her family. She was an avid student of the Bible, enjoying listening to it on audio on a regular, even daily, basis. A woman of faith who prayed without ceasing, she loved the Lord with all her heart, and found her church home in God's Way Church. There she found good fellowship and encouragement.

Sofia leaves behind her daughter Flo Lacandola, her grandsons RG Lacandola, CJ Lacandola, and Jr Lacandola, and her great-grandson Jackson Lacandola.

Sofia's family will be honoring her life and memory with a private memorial service at a later time.
