Ms. Rebecca Alvarez

Rebecca Alvarez, 84, after a life of service, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 18, 2019. She was born on February 12, 1935 in Bryan to Catarino and Ruby Pequeno.

Rebecca was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for sewing her children's clothes, including making sure each of her daughters had five new dresses to start each school year. Rebecca enjoyed many activities, including serving through her church, First Baptist of College Station. There she volunteered in their Discovery Program and went on many mission trips. She also loved gardening and had the best yard with her beautiful roses.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Valentine Alvarez; brother, Elias Alvarez. She is survived by her son, Ephraim Alvarez (Phyllis) of College Station; daughters, Eunice Jimenez (Julian), Elaine Ruiz (John) and Delia Diaz (Roland) all of Houston; sister, Sarah Romero; brother, Sam Pequeno (Andrea). Rebecca is also survived by eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, September 27, 2019 in the chapel of Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan. Interment will follow at Restever Cemetery.
