Our beloved husband, daddy, and grandpa died Sunday, December 15, 2019.
Kenneth Leon Perkinson was born September 27, 1934, to Oscar and Edna Perkinson, in St Louis, Missouri. He began his working life growing and selling cucumbers. After terrific floods, he left Wood River, Illinois, for Texas, where he was immediately drafted into the U. S. Army, where he served proudly for two and a half years.
His fifty-eight year union with his wife, Edith, began when he happened to witness an auto accident involving Edith's car. She was injured, and Kenneth helped her to the hospital. After they married, his working life continued in the commercial laundry business for the next 30 years. He later worked in transportation of nuclear medicine in the Gulf Coast area. He was a member of Edge Church of Christ for over 30 years.
Kenneth leaves behind his wife, Edith Perkinson; three sons and their families Mark and Marianne, Keith and Kelley, Kenny Jr.; and his best friend, Laura. Grandchildren include Sara, Luke, Vicenta, Alex, Josie, and Kendall; great-grandchildren include Jackie, Vincent, Sophia, and Leilah.
A graveside gathering will begin at noon with a service to begin at 1 pm on Saturday, December 21st, at House Cemetery in Edge, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or a charity of your choice.
