Sandra Amelia Toscano-Dungey

Sandra Toscano-Dungey, 50, passed away January 25th, 2018.

Sandra was born May 25, 1967 to Rafael Galaviz and Virginia Toscano. The oldest of three, she grew up in Exeter, California. Sandra’s favorite childhood memory was getting to meet Los Lobos at a flea market with her brother and sister. Growing up she loved school and had dreams to become a teacher.

Family was everything to Sandra. She worked hard to provide for her 3 stubborn boys and made sure that they were always taken care of and loved unconditionally. Her favorite times were spent visiting her family in Mexico and Navasota and cooking for everyone. She loved visiting her grandson, Ivan, in Dallas and enjoyed spending holidays and birthdays with those she loved most. Her family threw her a surprise 50th birthday last year, and it was “the best day of her life.”

Sandra always put others first and loved to help people. For 17 years, she served as a migrant service coordinator for Navasota ISD where she got to fulfill her dream of teaching and helping those in need. During this time, she met her amazing husband David through mutual friends. She devoted her life to him these past 17 years. They loved to go to the movies and go out to eat. Just being together made them both happy. In her free time, Sandra enjoyed gardening, knitting, and of course, spending time with family. She will be missed by many.

Sandra leaves behind her loving husband, David, son Eric and his wife Carly, son Daniel and grandson Ivan, son Alex and girlfriend Melanie, sister Trini, brother Cirilo, nieces Vicky, Jessica, Giovanna, Brittany, Shelcie, nephew Chris and all their families.
