Mary Cary Sullivan Dawson, 96, of Bryan, Texas was called home by the Lord on the evening of September 10, 2017. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Mary was born in Athens, TX on March 2, 1921 to John and Nancy Sullivan, but spent most of her life in Bryan/College Station, TX.
Mary was a strong, independent, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother that lived by the philosophy God, Family, and Home. She loved roses, angels, hummingbirds, watching birds in her backyard, family picnics and taking annual Mother’s Day car trips with her daughters across the US.
Mary is survived by four children (and spouses): Kathy Dawson (Lang Smith) of Bryan, TX, Rhonda Mosley of Bedias, TX, David (Halana) Dawson of Bryan, TX and Floyd Dawson (Shirley) of Iola, TX; sixteen grandchildren: Amber (Bill), Angela, Chello, Crystal, Charles, James, Jamie, Manitou (Jenny), Melinda, JR (Heather), Juan (Tiffany), Nikki, Roy, Sondra, Tammy (Jonathan), and Theresa (Gus), twenty-six great grandchildren: Alexis, Andronico, Ashley, Brittany, Christina, David, Desiree (Billy), Destaney, Donaciano, Eustolia, Finnegan, Frankie Joe, Gabriel, Hannah, Indalecio, Jessica, Jonathan (Jillian), Joseph (Bethany) Justin, Nate, Rosabella, Rowen, Sabrina, Shawn, Treyvone, and Vivian; seven great-great grandchildren: Arianna, Brayton, Callie, Dominik, Donovan, Madison, and Mercy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd Kenneth Dawson Sr, daughters Maurine Dana and Emily Bishop and sons in law Ralph Duran and James Mosley.
Services are being held at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan with visitation Friday September 15th from 6 to 8 p.m., Funeral Service Saturday September 16th at 2 p.m. with graveside service to follow at Steep Hollow Cemetery.
