Lester Heath

Lester L. Heath passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the age of 71.
Lester was born August 12, 1946 to Dude and Margie (Maddox) Heath in Bryan, TX. His father Dude was a truck driver while his mother Margie took care of the home. Lester grew up in the country with his younger brother James. Growing up in the country taught him to love the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and continued that enjoyment throughout his life. After attending Stephen F. Austin High School, Lester spent some time serving our country in the US Army as a mechanic.
Lester followed in his father’s footsteps and became a overland truck driver. It was through driving trucks that Lester met his beloved wife Willie (Cooky). Lester met Cooky over the CB radio. He was driving a truck and she used to talk to him while he drove. After they were married she rode with him and kept him company while he drove. The two were blessed to have been married for 30 years.
Lester was a good family man, and was very protective of all of his children: Lee (who passed away when he was 30 years old), Dorothy, Billy, and Robert. When he was not driving his truck, he enjoyed BBQ’s for the family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and wanted to pass on his love of hunting and fishing to the next generation. He attended Life Point Christian Church.
Lester leaves behind a large family to mourn his loss: his wife Cooky Heath, his daughter Dorothy Montague of Bryan, his son and daughter-in-law Billy and Ann Montague of Iowa, his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Marsha Montague of Bryan, his brother and sister-in-law James and Dana Heath of College Station, his grandchildren Lindsey Montague, Justin Montague, Tyler Montague, Kaci Montague, Andre Montague, Jonathan Montague, Grant Montague, Christian Beard, Arroya Beard, his nephew David Heath, his niece D’Anna DeAtley, and a host of extended family, friends, and church family. He will be missed. To honor Lester’s life, his life celebration will be held at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan on Tuesday, November 21 at 4 PM, with a reception following.
