Joe Hamilton

Joe Hamilton, 83, passed away on August 10, 2017.
Joe Hamilton was born on August 5, 1934 in Dimmitt, Texas to Bryan and Mollie Beatrice Hamilton. He grew up farming, but as soon as he graduated high school, he enlisted in the National Guard because he knew farming was not for him. While serving in the National Guard, he fought in the Korean War. He later became as physician’s assistant.
Joe met his wife Helen after taking care of her sister in a car accident. Joe and Helen were married in the Catholic Church on September 22, 1962 and were blessed with three sons: Anthony Joe, Russell Nolan, and Marvin Douglas. Joe was a good father, always juggling work to make time for his family. He worked overtime all year to provide for his family and so that they could take a three to four week family vacation each year. His family was all that mattered to him.
Joe loved to talk to people. He loved it when his wife would just sit and listen to him talk. He enjoyed sitting and visiting with people, giving advice, telling stories, and sharing his knowledge and experiences with others. He also enjoyed going deer hunting, garage saling, and fishing. He especially enjoyed taking his grandkids to College Station Central Park and catching fish to take back to the St. Thomas Aquinas church pond.
Please join his family in celebrating Joe’s life by attending his visitation on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 5-7PM with a Rosary and Vigil ceremony beginning at 6:30PM. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10AM Friday, August 18, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas.
