Robert Charles Halsell, 80, passed away on April 2, 2014 at Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan.  Born on July 31, 1933 in Bryan, Texas, he was the oldest child of C.M. “Buster” and Franchelle Roberts Halsell.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, John W. and Keith Halsell of Bryan; a nephew and his wife, Trent and Lucy Halsell of Houston; a niece and her husband, Shelly and Bryan Gerard of Sugar Land; and three great-nieces and a great-nephew: Lily Marie Halsell, Garrett John Halsell, Madison Keith Gerard and Rebekah Remy Gerard.

An avid Longhorn, he was graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1954 where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. Mr. Halsell was a loyal Presbyterian and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bryan since 1945.  He was an officer in the United States Air Force.  He was owner of Robert Halsell Travel Service for fifty years and enjoyed traveling the world.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5th at The First Presbyterian Church located at 1100 Carter Creek Parkway in Bryan, with the Rev. Ted Foote, Jr. officiating, to be followed by a reception at the church.  There will be a private family interment at Bryan City Cemetery in Bryan.

The family wishes to thank all the staff members and nurses of St. Joseph Hospital, Crestview Retirement Community and Hospice who helped to make him comfortable and happy this past year.
