Matthew Neil Jones, Artist, Philosopher, Carpenter, Departed at age 33
Matthew’s untimely and accidental death came early on Sunday July 18, 2010. Matthew was an individual with great compassion for the world. He would put himself out to help anyone in need. He brought a tremendous amount of joy and laughter into the lives of those around him. He made it a point to “bring the joy” everywhere he went. He enjoyed working on his lathe and took great pride in creating pieces of art with various types of wood, many of which he gave to friends and family. He had great passion for music and film and had a beautiful singing voice that he loved to use. He loved traveling the world and had a great fondness for recent trip to Italy and other parts of Europe. Matt had a thirst for knowledge and loved to read. Conversations with Matt could range widely from the environment and technology to String theory, particle physics or Noam Chomsky. He was a tender hearted person who had an affinity for little children and animals. He worked in construction with his father and brother as a professional carpenter.
