Charles Osborne “Chuck” Graham, 82, of Franklin passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center, after a courageous battle against cancer. Memorial services are set for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Hillier Funeral Home. Monsignor John Malinowski will officiate.
Chuck was born on June 24, 1927, in Davenport, Iowa, to Charles Edgar and Julia (Osborne) Graham. After high school, he was drafted for service in the U.S. Air Force in 1945, where he was stationed in Germany. In 1950, he and his wife, Lois, moved from Iowa to Texas with their son, Michael. In 1954, their daughter Julia was born.
An accomplished electrician, he was a superintendent for H&J Electric for more than 30 years, and retired in 1991 to Camp Creek Lake in Franklin, Texas.
After he retired, he continued his love of woodworking and started WaterWheelsofTexas.com, building and shipping water wheels throughout the United States and abroad. Chuck loved gardening and growing his whopper tomatoes, along with crafting with Lois. Chuck and Lois would have been married for 62 years on April 23, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Julia Osborne; sister, Betty; and son, Michael.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Lois Graham; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Richard Weisser; granddaughter, Jill Nelson and husband, Rob; grandson, Jeff Weisser and Ashley Duffee; and nieces, Sharon Joens and Linda Watson and their families in Bettendorf, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or Shriners Hospitals for Children, www.shrinersghq.com.
