Anita P. Garcia, 83, of Bryan, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 5, 2013.  A time for family to receive friends will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, December 9 at Hillier Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan.  Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park.

Anita was born on February 9, 1930 to Mateo and Tranquilina (Delgado) Paz in New Braunfels, TX.  Being a devoted Mom and Grandmother, her passion was educating her family on the importance of family values, morals, and becoming productive citizens.

Anita was a lifelong member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church. She loved gardening, crocheting, quilting, cooking, music, singing, growing and admiring flowers. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe M. Garcia Sr.; her parents; one brother, Mateo Jr.; and one sister, Eulalia Paz.

Anita leaves behind six children; Joe M. Garcia Jr., Edward P. Garcia of Waco, Gloria G. Rodriguez and husband Julio of Riesel, Ricky Garcia and wife Belinda, Mary Ann Garcia, and Linda Heritage and husband Roland; one sister, Louisa Morales of New Braunfels; one brother, Jesus Paz of New Braunfels; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
